Officer of the Year:  Michelle Gonzalez – 1991 to present

The Officer of the Year Award acknowledges the employee who has served the Department and the community with the utmost excellence in a positive and professional manner. Michelle Gonzalez is a member of the Crisis Negotiation Team and serves on the Glendale Police Officers Association Board. As a School Resource Officer, she has been an asset to the youth and the community at large.

Professional Staff Employee of the Year: Catherine Nguyen – 2012 to present

Ms. Nguyen has been with the Glendale Police Department since 2012 and has been instrumental in the implementation of the Forensic DNA testing program. Last year, Catherine received a Captain’s Commendation for outstanding dedication and perseverance resulting in the arrest of murder suspects, based on expedited DNA processing 

Chief’s Award of Excellence: Tim Anderson – Time as a Reserve Officer from 2000-2018

In 1971, Tim Anderson began his career in law enforcement with the Los Angeles Police Department.  In 2000, Tim joined the Glendale Police Department as a reserve police officer so he could have a positive influence on his community. Tim faithfully exemplifies the values and qualities that are in the highest tradition of law enforcement.
